Why did we start a Coffee Brand in 2025?
Share
Honestly… We started our coffee brand because we were sick and tired of the bullshit.
I would love to say that coffee nowadays is bland and out of touch with consumers. But let’s be real—there are millions of coffee brands out there, and a lot of them are kicking ass. (Slay, kween!)
To fully answer that question, you have to get to know us a little better.
👋 HI! I’m Danny, and that dude over in the corner roasting our coffee? That’s my husband, Manny.
👋 (Manny waves hi)
We got sick and tired of the following bullshit:
- Stupid bosses
- Horrible tech interviews
- Dumb people in positions of power that affect my life
- Being charged extra for plant-based milk
Now, we don’t want to come off as negative (we listen and don’t judge… well… maybe just a lil’), but we wanted to create a coffee universe that embodies everything Danny and Manny love.
We love chill coffee moments, great music, and killer customer service.
Manny and I are foster/adoptive parents, and our youngest just had a baby. We want to create a universe where our grandchild can grow up seeing his culture celebrated.
A place where Mexican beans and Puerto Rican coffee recipes blend. We are VERY proud of our Latino heritage, which is why we support women- and LGBTQ+-owned coffee bean farms that pay their workers a livable wage in Latin America.
We celebrate Chicano and Puerto Rican culture EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. DAY. And we’re proud to represent our people in our marketing, branding, and commitment to our community.
Castor and Pollux Coffee Roasters moves at the speed of culture and remains committed to DEI practices. We created this coffee universe so that we—the coffee experts—call all the shots when it comes to quality control, marketing, branding, and customer service.
So when people ask us why we decided to start a coffee brand in 2025, we just say:
“We were tired of the bullshit, and we KNEW we could do it better. So we did.
Simple as that. Now stick that down your throat.”
xoxoxxx,
Danny
